Pet rescue. It's what we do...and today we experienced it first-hand.
Rachel from the Cat Adoption Team happend to run into a gentleman who just found a small black kitten abandoned in the downtown Portland area. Without a moments hesitation, she took the hungry kitten under her wing. The cuddly feline now has a new "leash" on life and an oppurtunity to find a loving home. The dedication of our local ambassadors continues to astound us.
Twelve hours and 10 minutes walked. Steady voting. 2 adoptions and several potential adoptors. This is what made our time at the Rose Festival a success. Melissa's frisbee demonstrations were amazing. People flocked to our event just to watch her dogs perform.
Portland. What a city, not to mention one of most pet friendly in the nation. We couldn't be happier to be a part of pet rescue in a more beautiful place.
Melissa's Tip:
Pet lovers owning both cats and dogs in the same household have their hands full most of the time. Sometimes their pets might get into each others food. It's important to understand that when a dog eats cat food or vice versa, it's not good. Each type of food is formulated for that particular species. To avoid this make sure the different pets' eating areas are seperated. For instance, place cat food on top of the counter where the dog can' eat it.
