"We're excited to be here," said Wanda from Pet Lovers Rescue, "it's great to give these animals a second chance at being happy."
And so it begins. We've officially kicked off the tour in beautiful Grapevine, Texas. Let's look at the highlights: 6 pets found new, loving homes. Participants logged eighteen hours on the virtual walk for a total of $1,080.00 raised for pet rescue, not to mention donations obtained through t-shirt and collar and wristband sales. Melissa's training demonstrations packed the house and her free-style canine dancing-dog-show was a hit. The voting area was bustling with activity. One woman was even moved to tears after reading the "Doing More For Pets" rescue stories. "Are you sure I can't vote twice?" she asked. 
We heard it through the grapevine that Texas is known for its southern hospitality. It couldn't be more true. The ambassadors made us feel right at home with their enthusiastic attitude and passionate demeanor. It's what makes the job all the more worthwhile. When you see the smiles radiating from the faces of those adopting pets, it's immediatley followed by a sense of joy.
It's looking like a great year for pet rescue, and we've only just begun our journey...
